Prizes and lightning! Congratulations to Alan, Alick and Gary for completing the Arran man marathon on Sunday in horribly hot conditions. This was also Alicks first ever marathon, and so a second place overall was quite an achievement! Alan overtook him just before the 3/4 stage to take the overall win. The course is four laps of a circuit involving road and a considerable amount of gravel track, and was quite a mental as well as physical challenge. As Alan has just told me, it was a great day out, spoilt only by having a horrible long run in the middle of it… RESULTS

Alistair, Alister and Chris were at the red moss kips hills race on Wednesday night, the evening started out well, if midgy, but trouble came halfway through the race when part of the field was diverted around the second hill so as to avoid lightning strike! everyone was thoroughly soaked, but it was a good evening. This is a nice little race, virtually all runnable apart from the two short but steep ascents up the kips; sadly this time due to near drowning no Tinto members ran their age in minutes, so there was a lack of beer for us :/
